The California Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is the lead agency for the implementation of the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act of 1986[1].  OEHHA received a request for a Safe Use Determination (SUD) for diisononyl phthalate (DINP)[2] in Interface GlasBac® and GlasBac®RE modular carpet tiles.  The request was made by Interface, Inc.

The amendments were approved by the Office of Administrative Law on November 20, 2017 and will become operative on August 30, 2018

These amendments incorporate 2016 amendments to the federal Toxic Substances Control Act and make other non-substantive changes.

OEHHA has received a request from California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation seeking an extension of the comment period for a SUD for chlorothalonil in certain foods.  OEHHA hereby extends the public comment period until 5 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 for the materials on chlorothalonil.

PFOS and PFOA added to Proposition 65 list based on formal identification by the US Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA), an authoritative body, that the chemicals cause reproductive toxicity.
