
Kimberly Gettmann, Ph.D., has served since January 2025 as OEHHA’s Deputy Director of Scientific Programs. In this role, she shares responsibilities with OEHHA’s Assistant Deputy Director in the Division of Scientific Programs, managing the division’s activities and conducting technical review of OEHHA’s scientific output.
Prior to joining OEHHA, Kimberly was the Branch Chief of the Human and Ecological Risk Office at the CalEPA Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC). Kimberly has over 15 years of experience in toxicology and human health risk assessment working on complex Superfund sites at DTSC. While at DTSC, she was the co-Chair for the State Risk Assessor Group and helped develop DTSC’s 2018 Toxicity Criteria Regulation.
Kimberly received her Ph.D., in Comparative Pathology from the University of California, Davis and completed her post-doctoral training at the Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute in the Respiratory Immunology and Asthma Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She obtained her BS in Biological Sciences from the University of California, Davis.
